gbealnz Posted June 23, 2016 Share #17441 Posted June 23, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) That's because they were all on me, Gary. Actually I know West Coast sandflies pretty well and was wearing a military-grade insect repellant that actually stung a little as I daubed it on but was very effective at keeping the sandflies away. And any other living beings within 20 metres, including humans. Pete. You must be (have been) of a reasonably portly size, as slightly built visitors have been known to be carried away if there is enough sandflies. Actually picked up and taken away, can you believe it!!! Maybe your Pentax was what saved you, it would take a few to get that and you off the ground. Lovely Wanaka dawn shot Pete. Doc Henry Posted June 23, 2016 Author Share #17442 Posted June 23, 2016 Beautiful Henry. I agree Henry, beautiful. Gary These shots keep getting better and better, Henry. I love the contrast of the sharp reds of the poppies against the gold / green / silver river-like flow of the wheat. Thank you! This is lovely Henry. Thank you gentlemen my first escapade : cool, rainy, not good weather since few weeks but today, blue sky. So I left early this morning to go and take the poppies before the sun rises too high. I took all my pictures in contre-jour and film is very faithful to the color and contrast without loss of definition. Thanks again to Rob , Gary , Eoin and Philip fo your nice comment. It's encouraging I am also glad to develop the same day my roll of Kodak Portra without scratches Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted June 23, 2016 Author Share #17445 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Well done Henry ! Thanks Jean Marc glad you like poppies picture In contre-jour you have more relief and the color is more brilliant The sun is in front of me. I think digital cam cannot have this definition in the shadow The red of poppies is for me the reference to test camera (for just exposure) and film for vivid color. I will return at the same place with this time the Apo 90 Summicron, may be to morrow Welcome, dear visitor! philipus Posted June 23, 2016 Share #17447 Posted June 23, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Following on from the lovely reds in Henry's poppy shots, an abstract from the playground. A bit of a grab shot, to be honest, as the keen-eyed will see there's not enough dof which resulted from too wide an aperture and maxed out shutter speed with a bit of over-exposure as a consequence (something which ACR's various sliders managed to tame). MT0227 Posted June 23, 2016 Share #17449 Posted June 23, 2016 The sensor looks to be a 645 equivalent. You have so many incredible 6x6 and 6x7 film options available at a fraction of the cost. Stay away Nope I meant this: http://www.hasselblad.com/x1d Press image from Hasselblad and always for Philip and Gary for another new idea and not for the banker http://photorumors.com/2016/06/17/hasselblad-rumored-to-announce-a-new-camera-next-week/ http://leicarumors.com/2015/12/09/the-konost-full-frame-digital-rangefinder-camera-project-is-still-alive.aspx/ and to proove that current sensor is not satisfying , we'll have curve sensor : http://www.dpreview.com/articles/6229436014/sony-s-curved-sensors-may-allow-for-simpler-lenses-and-better-images Rg Henry ... and as we are in "news" chapter http://leicarumors.com/2015/12/09/the-konost-full-frame-digital-rangefinder-camera-project-is-still-alive.aspx/ ... but I remind you all is digital
