Perfect symmetry ! Thank you for sharing! How did you develop the TRI-X? I couldn't cope with TRI-x, my results where much grainier and also TRI-X tends to curl so heavily that the edges of my film where not completely cleared?

Ha, ha, I am not good enough to develop.  I am lazy and stupid and have my NYC lab do my developing.  I wish I was able to do it, though.

I really appreciate your feedback!

Best,

Adam

A wee sunset on the bonny banks of lake Hoi An

Portra 400

very nice but the clouds are green and so I think the WB is off and thus the photo can be made better by making a finer balance of the temps and tints.

Here is a tweak to the WB.  I simply placed the WB pen on the cloud (which is more or less gray).  This is a different take.  You might like the greener version better...  I actually like the green tones in the water in yours but the green in the clouds turns me off.  So perhaps a balance of the two is the optimum...

Neil...several pages back you posted your Vuescan settings with Color setting to Neutral; try setting to Auto Levels.....I think you will get better initial results.    I was so caught up in the scene.... I did even notice the WB issue Adam had pointed out.

The “Niewe Kerk” in Delft is a typical Dutch church that has suffered the procedures of the “Beeldenstorm”, 450 years ago. All images that were deemed to be idolatrous, superstitious etc. by the then ruling Protestants were removed, smashed and burned in the market place.  The below image is one of the few pieces of the original decoration still in place, albeit in a rather sorry state. Some similarities with happenings in the recent history could be drawn…
