I see no difference in definition but a little in green and stones colors may be green more faithful with Epson. gbealnz Posted May 31, 2016 Share #16345 Posted May 31, 2016 Hard to tell Henry, for sure there is a vast difference in the saturation, but then again, there is a difference in the area of the negative presented as well. If nothing else it bodes well, should the unfortunate happen and the Nikon fails. The Epson will be still there. Gary

A miller Posted May 31, 2016 Share #16358 Posted May 31, 2016 Magic +1, Adam. Very New Yorkie! I like your use of the subtle colours of the Portra for these shots. +2, wonderful moody shot. Gary +3. It screams New York. I cannot put "thanks" again for to day : reached my quota ? abug ? Adam really enchanting ,another world ? anyway it's not fog ? Best Henry Outstanding tone and texture from the delightful Summaron. I'm never letting mine go. Your vision is beautifully subtle and instinctive. Very nice Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. We have these large tall cones that funnels steam from under the ground and in certain places (esp where there is construction) - with the help of wind and cold weather - the steam finds its way all over the street. Couple this with the low winter morning sun and you get some surreal scenes. Mute-on - oh yes, the 28 summaron is quite a little gem. I have an elmarit pre=asph that is also quite good with film but for these silhouettes and plays on shadows and light I used the summaron almost exclusively. For some reason it handles direct sunlight much better....

I took many similar photos in colour, but your monochrome image is just hauntingly beautiful. A stunning photograph.
