Doc Henry Posted May 26, 2016 Author Share #16101 Posted May 26, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for playing the game. Not surprisingly , you are all right. Th first is Velvia 50. A little surprised that Gary likes the Ektar better. Seeing them side by side like this makes me think that I could work on the Ektar a little bit more to do it more justice. Adam , Velvia gives a more vivid color than Ektar. That's how I could choose on your photos In some situation , it's useful and it's like in the reality Best Henry

A miller Posted May 26, 2016 Share #16103 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Adam , Velvia gives a more vivid color than Ektar. That's how I could choose on your photos In some situation , it's useful and it's like in the reality Best Henry Thanks, Henry. Actually, the velvia 50 didn't quite produce actual reality. The colors are much more punchy and balanced that what you would have seen in person, even with polarizing sunglasses. But to me that doesn't matter, the velvia produces a crisp 3D finely balanced image with punchy "incredible but real" (forgot the French translation) colors, which to me works nicely here. IT is interesting that the unevenness in the color in the sky might suggest that I used a polarizing filter on my wide angle SWC (which I've taught myself is a big no no in early morning light like this). But I didn't use any filter, and the velvia picked up on the unevenness and with its deep saturation created a similar effect. Would have like more evenness, but the sun was rising on the left and there was no way to get it. Edited May 26, 2016 by A miller
