Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted May 20, 2016 Share #15647 Posted May 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Neil. First cab off the rank here. Not familiar with LC29, but try the manufacturers recommendations, they should be available online. Secondly, if the negs so far look OK, then I'd say you are not doing anything out of the ordinary. In respect of the advice to use fresh each time. I do with R09/Rodinal, but it IS a one-shot developer. I use fixer until it's stuffed, and to me "twice the clearing time" is all I'm worried about. Mind you, this is B&W only, colour (if that is what you are doing as well) might be different. Gary GaryI read the ilford recommendations and they recommend 1/19 mix 5 rolls at normal time. The next 5 rolls plus 10% and on and on. I will stick with what I have been doing except after 5 add 10% I guess that's why they print there recommendations

I think it is dangerous to exhaust the developer too much. We are easily buying equipment für thousands of dollars (in a few weeks...), but have to save up some cents for the developer, for the risk of bad negatives. gbealnz Posted May 20, 2016 Share #15654 Posted May 20, 2016 SUPERB Gary , really superb Henry Thank you Henry. As a shot it's OK, but take a look at post #9 here. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/259129-do-we-already-have-an-open-thread-for-macro-pictures/ Yes, it's digital which is why I placed the link, but there is a heck of a difference. Certainly easier too. Gary
Fotoklaus Posted May 20, 2016 Share #15655 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Ilford LC 29 is sold for about 20 Euro for 500 ml here. With 1+19 you will need 25 ml for 500 ml dilution, which is enough for for 2 Fiilms 135 or 120. So about 50 cent per Film, is that right? I know from looking at my negs that my current method is fine. My initial question was because someone threw a spanner in the works. I've got 11 or 12 rolls of 120 to devolop tonight and I will mix a separate mix for each half a dozen. I will post up later the results
