No it isn't! :D

I thought the 40mm was a top lens...... Am I wrong and if so what would you recommend for a wide angle lens ??

The Zeiss 40mm distagon is a very good lens.  Not too sure about the distongon, though!

Can't compete with the subject matter Neil has at his disposal.

 

I am not sure if I have posted this before, certainly I have tried scanning it with the BEOON, and Minolta 5400 previously, with little success.

 

It is a view of the town called Matera,  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matera 

 

The day was a scorcher, and the sky as clear as, and this is about midday or early afternoon. It "looked" amazing, and both the digital (X-Vario) shots and this are nothing ike what I remembered it. This is as good as I have got, the other scans were not as life like as this, and even this looks flat/lifeless.

 

Anyway, it is a great memory nevertheless.

After you've bought the 40mm mastodon, the 500mm trolly trumpet and 2x mustard convector should be the next purchases to fill the remaining gaps for you.
