Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted May 13, 2016 Share #15164 Posted May 13, 2016 No it isn't! I thought the 40mm was a top lens...... Am I wrong and if so what would you recommend for a wide angle lens ??
gbealnz Posted May 13, 2016 Share #15165 Posted May 13, 2016 The 40 Distagon is a fine lens, albeit one I have not owned, nor tried. I'd suggest the comment was more about your (again) spell check. Gary

gbealnz Posted May 13, 2016 Share #15171 Posted May 13, 2016 Can't compete with the subject matter Neil has at his disposal. I am not sure if I have posted this before, certainly I have tried scanning it with the BEOON, and Minolta 5400 previously, with little success. It is a view of the town called Matera, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matera The day was a scorcher, and the sky as clear as, and this is about midday or early afternoon. It "looked" amazing, and both the digital (X-Vario) shots and this are nothing ike what I remembered it. This is as good as I have got, the other scans were not as life like as this, and even this looks flat/lifeless. Anyway, it is a great memory nevertheless. honcho Posted May 13, 2016 Share #15177 Posted May 13, 2016 Yuuki from a different angle and using my 180mm f4 disogron. After you've bought the 40mm mastodon, the 500mm trolly trumpet and 2x mustard convector should be the next purchases to fill the remaining gaps for you.
