Adam,

you had me, for a few secs anyway, had to look it up.

The film is old(ish), probably shot about 10-13 years ago. Film edge is marked "Fuji RDP III".

Looks like it is "Provia".

Gary

yes, that was the only film stock I could think of.  Thanks for clarifying.

Gary ,  thank you I love poppies :)

Adam beats me for the question I wanted to ask you Gary

1- do you have position "slide" (versus "negative") on VueScan,SilverFast or Plustek software

it looks like there an "incompatibility", color saturation is not normal

On the Nikon scan. you have this choice

2-may be fixing was done wrong ? or degraded over time ?

Adam, glad see you back  from beach :D

Some Velvia 50 (6x9) from Brooklyn...

attachicon.gifmural.jpg

I have been thinking what can be done with my small (but growing) collection of NYC graffiti wall murals...

So I created a little store on FineArtAmerica.com (also Pixels.com)

I am not so enthused about the quality of the printing that is procured by this site.

However, they have many other cool products that can be ordered with an image imprinted, such as shower curtains, duvet covers, throw pillows, tote bags, greeting cards, and of course canvas and metallic.

Seems to me that some of these products would compliment quite nicely my street art...  But it may ultimately also be a big waste of time given the general "flea market" nature of the site (which is subject to many exceptions) .

I added a couple of other things to my profile just to show the different facets of my NYC photography...

If interested in having a look... http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/9-adam-miller.html?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=646198

I do have the Neg/Slide option Henry (in both VueScan and SilverFast). It was in the "correct" position, but I did notice that some of them scanned "better" in Vuescan, not sure why. I am 99% sure it will be the way I am doing it, not the equipment or software.

Still learning, and one of the reasons B&W appeals.

Here's one from that same Fuji RDP roll, gave me all sorts of grief when using SilverFast, so I tried VueScan. This is the VueScan version.

Gary no discouragement please :)
it was just to try to improve photos
This is not a reproach.
I put my practice scanner at your service
The color is so beautiful and also b&w :)

I noticed that sometimes when I scan (specially with Fuji) , it has a color

saturation especially in the red  and must be corrected
M8 lacks some bright in red and must be corrected also

Here's for you

Epson scan V700+ ENR Glass

Software Epson (picture 1 and 2)

Fuji Superia 100

Leica M7

90 Macro Elmar  (ME)

Kodak TX400

M7-90 ME

For color comparison with CCD sensor

Leica M8

90 ME

I hope you still post color in the future ...
If you come to France , we will go where there will be more color in Paris :D

Best regards

Henry

A very nice color Gary , natural IMHO

In this case , I think it does not come from your Fuji slide roll  :)

Thanks for showing

I'm tempted to post the SilverFast scan, it was a pig to do anything with. Too dark, and appeared to have a definite cast across it.

I WILL post it, here it is, as good as I could manage.

I couldn't get on with Silverfish and find Vuescan much easier to use

Gary thanks for your post and for your picture

I think Vuescan (VS) is better IMO specially for the horse's mane :)

... and also the green color of the lawn better green with VS

and with Plustek software , easier no ?

Here what I said above about red saturation  with Fuji ,  less with Kodak Portra

Picture 1 Epson scan V700 , with Anti Newton glass (ENR Glass)

Picture 2 less "red saturation"  - 20 in LR

Your opinion ?

I had SilverFast (we did have silverfish many years ago as well, LOL), when I previously had a Plustek scanner. Didn't really hit it off. When I had the short lived Minolta I purchased VueScan and liked it, and though it was all I wanted.

This latest Plustek came with SilverFast and initially I couldn't make it work, but with much assistance from Support I now have it humming, and actually have found I like it as much or better. Except with the odd problematic slide of late.

I'll continue to use both I reckon.

Agree 100% Henry, and I've just reopened the image in CS6, dropped the saturation (red) and it looks much better.

My Plustek is an older model 7500i but I picked it up at our club auction for £12 what a bargain

This was another problematic slide with SilverFast, but this time via VueScan, it is "better".

You can see why B&W is simpler, :)

I love b&w too like you and I agree perhaps simplier but not sure Gary, false impression
but only a printed photo can share both :)

Here an example

The Saint Michel Bay at high tide : very impressive , rising water really fast

water moving fast silently , "the speed of a galloping horse" said local people

It's better in color , it is almost b&w  but not the sky

(I have another and same b&w version in Kodak TX400 , Gary) :)

so more impressive in color , reproducing well this atmosphere of that day

with a furtive sunset sun at west  (picture taken at 8 pm in August)

Kodak Portra 400

Leica M7 + tripod

35 Summilux Asph

Nikon Scan V

Nikon software

It's fine for me Gary

Nothing to say  :)

"You can see why B&W is simpler" :D

Photography  is the search for art Gary , it is not only the pixel to be corrected

Are you with me?

Since my Leica S was in Wetzlar for repair (yes it is filled with bugs and faults, but came back in perfect working order... for now.) I used my R8.
