Tri-X Pan / 6049 on Lubitel 6x6

Cheers, JM.

Excellent, Jean-Marc. I love the composition in the first one. I used to work on the other side of the Ranges in NWFP in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Incredible people live in harsh places.

Please keep sharing these shots, Jean-Marc.

I love this, Jean-Marc

Me too, first thing I thought was "Gandolf".

Thanks a lot Eoin and Gary !

I took another crack I took at this scene.

This time to get more headroom I bought a 12 foot (4ish meter) ladder from the local hardware store and stuck it into the back of my Smartcar (with about 1/3 sticking out of the back) and transported it to this location.

This view is from the top of the ladder.  Not as dramatic as I thought might be the case but headroom I nevertheless got :)

Is there a hop-on-hop-off bus that goes past here?

The top deck of one of these would be the good oil I reckon. You might have to grease the palm of the driver though.

Still, your ladder attempt is better, just depends how much higher you want to go.

neah, I wanted a long exposure and I'd have to grease the palms of not only the driver but all passengers to wait the 90 seconds needed to get this.  Plus the vibrations of the bus would probably blow the sharpness. :)

I now have a 2nd M7 on its way to me :) and my M9 will be departing, not using it enough to warrant keeping it.

As such, I have a complete BEOON set that I'll no longer need if anyone should be interested..

Adam,

Nice to see you "massaging" a scene over a period of time.

The ladder, angle of view and long exposure work fine for me.

The sky though is a bit featureless ...

thanks, Christoph.  I have indeed been asking myself whether features in the sky are a "must have" or merely a "nice to have" for a winning shot here.  I frankly haven't seen anything better out there on the web.  But that isn't saying much as this is a question of me against myself.  Since this is just a block from my home, I will be going back to it many more times until it comes down in July.  (I shot a roll of 6x6 Tri-X just earlier this evening with my SWC.)  We'll shall see what else I come up with.  Thanks again.
