I have a question

After you take a picture with film, I guess you then take that roll of film to a camera shop that develops film. The bit I don't get is how do you then get them up on this forum. I see some really fantastic pictures here just would like to know how you guys do it??

Neil , first welcome to film's thread  :)

Develop b&w yourself it's better , no scratches good work

Scan also yourself with a good scanner . The gentlemen here will advise you

to choose a good scanner with a best value

and if you can , buy a used enlarger and develop yourself  on photo paper

What a pleasure when you do everything yourself  ... even when the shops are closed

on Sundays

Whats E6?

I go to publika 3 times a week (Bens for food and Heally Macs for beer) so that is fine and handy. How fast is the turn around and is it better to develop and scan or just develop??

Neil E6 is a slide process.

C41 is a color negative process

(I do myself C41 and also many contributors here)

...But don't forget you can digitize the film using your digital cameras too (just google for that)...

Especially from your S006, Neil.

Hmmm...Your questions about the M 50mm Apo Summicron are now raising further suspicions... Are you / have you bought a film M?

My recommendation would be to give Bang Bang Geng a try for develop and scan. I don't know what his turnaround time is (I've only bought film from him), but I guess it is likely to be 2-3 days.

You could arrange to do your developing yourself in his shop, until you got comfortable with it.

Wont a 50mm APO work on a film camera??

Can you switch over to this other thread http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/258574-leica-film-camera-for-a-beginner/ that I started so that I can keep it all in the same place. Thanks

I worried about what lens to get now??

Dirk  - don't tell me that you have been in NYC recently and didn't contact me.....? :(

It is actually an older picture. I just re-scanned it recently because I bought a new scanner. I'll definitely let you know the next time when I'll got to NYC.

In an attempt at taking out the Numpty of the Year Award, I managed to shoot a whole roll of Ektar 100 with a yellow filter still on the lens (M6 TTL w/ 50mm Apo Summicron) - Only 1 stop better than shooting with the lens cap on. Here's how the scanned Lomoaccidents looks straight, slightly de-yellowed, and in B&W.

Lucky I'm not paid to do this...

I'm going to illicitly sneak in another digital shot, offering a defense that it's about film, rather than is film. Here is the reason for the recent stock-up of 120 films...

I received it this morning, and promptly went and fired off a roll each of Tri-X, FP4, Delta 100, Neopan Acros 100, and Pan F. Lucky I only carried that with me, or I'd still be out there.

It was such an enjoyable experience! I was shooting in the same area as most of my other recent excursions, and wanted to see how it was perceived in comparison with the unobtrusive M6. I was really impressed - People looked, but it seemed to be more out of interest than out of defensiveness. Wading around in the magnificent Finder was a true joy - It was like directing a little movie, and thoroughly immersive.

I think I'd be happy going out shooting this without any film - Which, judging by how fast I'm rattling through it, may soon be my only option...
