Thanks all :)

Good looking couple and terrific portrait. Just a little unsure about his arm over her shoulder.

Funny you say that, Trev.  With the pose I was was trying to imitate a GUESS JEANS street advertisement that was wallpapers on just about every other street corner in NYC at the time.  The models in that photo were in a similarly contorted position.  I actually think it works because the boy's arm is very skinny just like the girl's torso :)

Really nice pic, Adam. And I also have a soundtrack for your NY pics: Don Henley's "New York minute"

I will have to look that up, thanks for the thought :)

This is why I could never do street photography. I just could not ask strangers if I could take their photographs, maybe it is my 'Britishness'! I have watched one or two of Eric Kim's videos on youtube who says he can teach you how to get over this fear, but old dogs and new tricks etc.

This was my one attempt at Street Photography and by the time that I had the shot in focus they all started smiling for me. Notice how I gave myself the barrier of the door between the subject and myself and, distance to runattachicon.gif19585553625_29a6d0d65a_o.jpg.

Very funny, Dave.  I think you have it in you and all you need to do is break the ice.  Below is a collection of other street portraits of total strangers from last year - all with film (and most of which I've shared previously.  In all I had the same trepidation myself but mustered up the "what the hell?" courage to just ask the question.  You'd be surprised at how flattered some people get, even though you say it is just for your own "personal collection"

Adam,

No pretending needed; an excellent portrait - and I am quite sure you know what you do.

Btw, did you send them the pic?

Rgds

Christoph

Thanks, Christopher, I really appreciate that but I am keeping my day job for sure.  I took their email but it has been so long that I don't think I have it anymore.

Very nice Adam

A great shot ... with flash ?

Thanks Adam

Nice result even you have just developed after 9 months

Bravo the film !

Hi Henry.  Many thanks, and no flash.

This is a killer shot Adam! It was defintely worth to develop this film. These are the moments where I think to myself that living in such a big city has also a lot of pros ;)

Hey, thanks my professional portrait photographer inspiration!  Glad to have you back online :)

Do you have the non-cropped version to hand, Henry? I suspect I'd like this atmospheric landscape even more uncropped in 3:2 proportions.
