Adam Miller - What film is EXTAR . That picture of New York skyline is excellent and the film looks really good - is that 35mm?

Thanks, Paul

The film is Kodak Ektar. Have a look http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professional/products/films/ektar/ektarIndex.jhtml?pq-path=13328

The film size is 120 medium format. The negative is 6cm x 9cm

In case anyone is wondering, i used a LensSkirt to avoid reflection from the window

http://www.lenskirt.com/lenskirt-xl/

It works pretty well

Thanks Adam - I only use B&W film so I don't follow colour film BUT I like that look of that EKTAR so I'm going to get some in 120 and get it processed only and then scan it.

Good idea

Just remember that it is really meant for landscapes and not so much people (especially caucasian). Enjoy

Which caused me to delve into my LR library to look at where I had used Ektar :)  The one below was taken a few summers ago with my Rolleicord Vb. I'm standing on the rampart of Avebury's Neolithic earthworks, looking north towards the equally ancient Ridgeway.  The wheat field has idiots trampling the crop to get a closer look at one of the crop-circles that the area is famed for.

Notice the color of stone, of wood (chairs) , background light in stain glass,

briefly general rendering warmth brilliance ...

Leica M cameras on both pictures with Summilux 35 Asph

I went to my office to catch the sunrise last week.

Caught a few with EKTAR and here is one.

A colleague is retiring and I was thinking of making a large print of this on Fuji Flex for him as a gift to with the message that, although he is retiring, his sun is still rising...  :)

Wonderful Adam really good

Lovely

Tmax is really a great film. Very crisp and more latitude than it gets credit for. And it has great reciprocity failure tolerance for log exposures (compared to tri-x which sucks in this regard)

Same day, Same camera, same roll of Ektar as #10543.  For some reason these two images resided untouched on my hard drive until the subject of Ektar cropped up today.
