Doc, did you use the filter? This could be a painting. And... I guess you ate the omelette de la Mere Poulard ;)

No Ileo just under-exposed (1 or 2 stp) . The painting is due to the texture of film better than digital

sand and clouds :) as I said above in comparison digit versus film !

Yes I know La Mère Poulard delicious omelette , a great place. To recommend

My daughter in her first few seconds of life is handed by the midwife to my elated wife Michelle.

A picture taken 25 years ago on a Leica M6 with a 35mm Summilux lens. The film is TRI-X which was pushed to ISO 800 and as the room was dimly lit the lens was wide open at F1.4.

Beautiful moment.  What I find fascinating is how she was still wearing her wedding ring despite all of the swelling that a pregnant woman naturally goes through.  It took my wife over a year to be able to fit back into her rings each time she went through a pregnancy.  I guess she loved you and the ring too much to part with it even for a short while... :)

As a side note, after shooting some different films, i should mention Kodak Ektar is a fantastic and versatile film that deserves my humble number 1! :)

I always knew you were smart!!

Seriously, for all of its quirkiness, Ektar is still easier to manage than slide film (better DR, slightly better with scanning and able to be printed in a traditional darkroom (which slide film no longer is) yet exhibits many of the same attributes (punchy colors and good contrast). Of course, when a shot with slide film is nailed, not much else can compare.  And so slide film deserves to be sung praises, too.  But the trend seems to be to phase out slide film (at least in larger formats), which will leave Ektar in a special class among other C41 landscape-oriented films.  Perhaps Kodak continued investment in Ektar (and not another E-6 film stock) was wise after all...

Thanks for your comment.

A nice place to visit and breathe the sea air , but be careful with high tide (a few died from drowning)

it moves very fast, the locals talk about the speed of a galloping horse !

Another picture for Ileo

Space is limited, once we rise to the abbey, for this picture I can not back down more !

Some old shots i found (nothing special) but people that are interested in history may find interesting, within 20 miles of my home there are lots of Neolithic monuments, these below are on a walk we take the dogs probably once a month

Stone Circle, bit over grown but you can just about see it

Orwo%202-XL.jpg

20 meters from the circle there is a burial mound

Orwo%205-XL.jpg

and then a few minute from there, there is a round house

Lonely smoker.  Same roll of HP5+ from the M7 as the Lacock images, albeit this time with a C-Sonnar 50mm.

Haha - yes.   This is her now with Michelle  alas not film but Fuji X100.

Where did the years all go and who would have thought when the original picture was taken 25years ago that technology would have changed photography so much.

Nice Paul, nice. Wow, those eyer. Hey she looks a little like... what's her name? The actress in X- Files

Yes, miller... ektar seems to suit very well on that role of a hybrid film.

Having said that, 2 more shots of Fuji Provia, this time indoors.

Very, very nice Beckzito. And I guess he's your son. That's the best thing for children: I would make Lego mandatory for every child. Leave computers, playstations and so on in the garbage.

It's nice to read positive experiences with Fomapan (and good photos too). I'm about to shoot my first rolls of the ISO 100 variety to compare with APX 100 and Acros 100 (the latter I have no previous experience with and will try it in both 135 and 120). Rumour has it these three films work well with Diafine. Does anyone know if that's true? My only other (current) alternative is HC-110.

Here are two humble variations on a theme.

Did someone mention neolithic sites?

I became I little obsessed with these during my time in the UK.
