It seems I just missed it, darn. It was on at the Filmhuis here in The Hague during the Indian film festival in October. Will have to look it up (iTunes perhaps?).

Apologies for the long post, but as I am going through my rolls from Nice last year I'm discovering that I seem to have shot (entirely without plan or purpose) several photos with three main subjects, like the below (same equipment, film and development as earlier).

With Double-X/5222 (like with Tri-X in 135 format) it's easy to get very contrasty images which can look really inky and cool, but here I've tried to maintain smooth(ish) tones throughout the image. I have a few others I will post later that have a different look.

Philip, there were a couple of screenings in Rotterdam last year. "Sunrise" is just about to be released in the theaters this spring (US, UK and France releases)  so it will not be available online or on DVD for a while.

Cheers JM

Here a somewhat older picture. In May 1981, I walked along an abandoned Railway line in the north of Berlin. The sun was setting and bathed the landscape into a beautiful light. The railway line was abandoned since 1961 and just behind, on the other side was "the wall". I took a few pictures, amongst them the attached one, and distinctly remember that my presence caused the border guards on the east side into some frenetic activities ... The film I used came from that part of Germany too: Orwochrom UT18.

The last of the Noyo Harbor series...  I shot all three of these on the same roll of film, the harbor and bridge scene to the left, the moored fishing boat to my right, and these seals directly below me on the quay.    Hassy 500cm on T-Max 400.

could you please  help me translate the writings on the wall from this photo ?!

It was shot in 1995 (Color slide film on Horizon 202):

From what I can read (black writing):

Centre left: MIT TEILEN

A play with words in German Teilen means "to divert", Mitteilen means to communicate

Centre: MIT DEN BAEUMEN REDEN IST LEBEN

To talk to (literally: with) the trees is to live

Centre right: LEBENSBAUM

Tree of life

love this kind of seven, Henry (doesn't even have to be topless).

But I think it could be even more interesting if the highlights were toned down and more midtones were introduced in the rocks, particularly in the foreground.
