Guest Posted January 7, 2016 Share #9301 Posted January 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) London by -Ric Capucho- Back to London, using the Contax T2 and Ilford XP2. Camera set to "f/2.8 flash" (the actual flash taped over, if you remember) which games it to f/2.8 and 1/30... I don't always get enough illumination from a nearby streetlight or shop window, but often the results are at least interesting. Soon I'll try again with the M6 and my woefully under-used Summicron 35mm. That should buy me a handheld stop or two at night. A friend of mine's been looking at a Summilux 35mm FLE for a similar reason, which would be another stop again. Ric

Doc Henry Posted January 7, 2016 Author Share #9303 Posted January 7, 2016 some of your most well exposed and color balanced images, Henry. The first has very effective composition. And yes, the 28 cron is a wonderful lens that will last many generations. Thanks Adam for your advice. If you go there one day , you'll see that the atmosphere is "royal" specially with the 2 gardens and also the tree-lined entrance. A wonderful place to visit. chrism Posted January 7, 2016 Share #9314 Posted January 7, 2016 Thank you, Adam! I can see I'm going to have to do some portraits of pretty razors with film. Here's a 4x5 of the gear used for a typical shave: Today's Shave by chrism229, on Flickr Note the infamous Moss Scuttle in the centre. Another 4x5 showing the Shelves of Shame, upon which sit 100 different shaving soaps in wooden bowls, some colognes, brushes and a seven day set of straights atop the lot (ironically I sport a beard at the time, but my excuse is that I was forbidden to use real razors when my platelets were so low from chemo - at least it wasn't the sort that made my hair fall out): Large Format Selfie #2 by chrism229, on Flickr In my defense, I am at least being consistent. Preferring film over digital, vinyl over CDs, tubes over transistors, black powder over smokeless, George Jackson Churchward's locomotives over stinking diesels, so why not an honest straight, honed and stropped at home, over an electric shaver? Troglodyte? Maybe, but a happy one. Chris M.

chrism Posted January 7, 2016 Share #9318 Posted January 7, 2016 Henry - thank you. It's a Crown Graphic, with the rangefinder ripped off so it has to be used as a view camera. Adam - since you are tempted by LF, I can send you this CG with a lens board and a couple of film holders. Since I have the lens that came with it mounted on a Chamonix lens board for the Chamonix 4x5, you would have to find a lens for yourself. It would come with one, perhaps two - I forget, spare bodies I have cannibalised for parts. Like all good pushers, I give the first sample for free....
