Doc Henry Posted December 9, 2015 Author Share #8402 Posted December 9, 2015 I seem to remember someone mentioning Eastman Double-X (5222) earlier which is a film I like a lot, too, so here are two (both Coolscan 9000). Unedited beyond making basic curves and levels adjustments that are part of my Photoshop conversion process from TIFF to JPG. jmr237 Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8406 Posted December 10, 2015 Hi all, sorry to go slightly off topic, but can anyone point to a reference for embedding a flickr image in theses posts? I've searched this within the forum and the suggestions are not working for me. Or is there another way to post images? The attachment option seems limited due to the 500K file size. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. I use an iPad app called FlickStackr which has a function to create the links. I select BB Code, then the size of the image on the link (640x427) and press "copy". Then simply paste it, as below... Ric Lisbon by -Ric Capucho-

Hi JMR, If you have Lightroom you can also reduce before posting go to "File" then select "Export" after "sizing the image" ("dimensionnement de l'image") choose "900" pixels Thanks for posting your pictures here Welcome, dear visitor! gbealnz Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8409 Posted December 10, 2015 JMR, I do similar to what the Doc has suggested, but limit the export file size to 1200 pixels along the long edge, and limit the file size to no more than 500kbs. This conforms to the forum requirements. I simply attach the resulting file as part of the "more reply options". Easy-peasy. Try it and see. Keith (M) Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8411 Posted December 10, 2015 love the true colors here, Keith. What film? All these colour shots are from a roll of Portra 400, developed and scanned by UK Film Lab. I cannot match the areas of blue in your superb #8400, but the one below does at least have sky and reflections of it in the River Dronne at Brantome. MP + Elmarit-M 28mm ASPH. Welcome, dear visitor! Keith (M) Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8413 Posted December 10, 2015 Hi all, sorry to go slightly off topic, but can anyone point to a reference for embedding a flickr image in theses posts? I've searched this within the forum and the suggestions are not working for me. Or is there another way to post images? The attachment option seems limited due to the 500K file size. Thanks in advance. Like Doc and Gary, I upload from my computer using the facility in the "More Reply Options" box. Typically I export the file from Lightroom (into a sub-folder wittily entitled 'Export'), selecting either 1024px longest side for landscape or 900px for portrait in the dialogue box and max size of 500kb. Of course, if one wishes to post more than one image in a single post then one would have to either reduce the resolution of the images so as to keep within the 500kb per post limit or use external links. Flickr seems to be the most popular choice and again, one can choose file dimensions when selecting/copying the link.

philipus Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8415 Posted December 10, 2015 Yes indeed, at the top of the promenade. Well spotted. Philip, Nice Promenade des Anglais ? Well done Best Henry The easiest is to go to the Flickr page that has links for the different sizes of a photo, select the one that corresponds to the max size of the forum (about 1000px width), right-click to copy the image address and paste that into the post editor's "Image" dialog box (the green polaroid-looking icon). jmr237 Posted December 10, 2015 Share #8416 Posted December 10, 2015 Thanks for the tips on posting. I had not noticed the option in Lightroom to limit file size. I also had not found my way to the flickr page where you can choose the image dimensions. Anyway, here's a new one. It's not as creatively inspired as other photos on this thread, but I like how it conveys the warm late afternoon light coming in at a low angle from the horizon. This shot is from a hill in Culver City, CA that overlooks the western edge of Los Angeles.
