Another rainy photo, from a year ago. Shows how tricky transparency film can be when used in higher contrast environments. With C41 it would have been possible to bring out "Gifts" (a lot) more, but with transparencies there's very little information in blown highlights. Btw, this photo is unprocessed; the linear scan has only been developed in ColorPerfect.

Moving to the right color curves I obtained that :)

I allowed myself to correct to "make up" this beautiful picture with its nice bokeh

Gary's opinion and your opinion ? Gary is perhaps tired not want to correct :D

Dominant blue, probably a development temperature stability problem but film

18 years out of date still good IMO

Best

I think I prefer the original because it show how the film performs when it is very out of date

35mm Cron ASPH first shots; HP5 @ box speed, HC110 5mins @20C

I think the focus is better!! What do you think? Some strange band from the scanning though...

For me , the focus is perfect Paul :)

For the trait, it's not rather from the negative ? you developed yourself or external laboratory ?

Is it on all of your pictures in the same place ?

Nice shot

I will submit to you, experts in photo, these two images one with M7 + 35 Lux Asph + Kodak Portra 160

and one with MP - 50 Lux Asph  +  Kodak TX400  taken at the "same time and same place"

Condition : 8 am from the city of Laon (which is on a hill) , with a little hazy , sunrise at your right.

It is to see when converting a color image to black and white by Silver Effex 2 (SE) , is this good  ? :)
All settings of Nikon 5000 scanner are "standard" or "neutral" with "any  correction" in  Light Room (LR)
(RGB calibrated for Portra)Tiff  > Jpeg for post
Same for the TX 400 , no correction Tiff > Jpeg

Here are the 2 original pictures :

Kodak Portra 160

Crop 100% TX400

Your conclusion about sharpness and definition ?

I remind you that I did no correction :)

For me the conclusion is clearbut I'll let you comment :)

I agree with you that the post is small, but I have the original  (12 MB)

that I can send you.

Best
