ReturningToFilm Posted September 4, 2015 Share #6603 Posted September 4, 2015 Thanks Doc Henry. Le Gard is lovely. I know Goudargues too, a nice spot. I scanned with a Plustek 8100 and improved the contrast in PS as suggested in the film thread previously, as the scans are quite "flat". Other than that no fiddling with the image. Thanks for the encouragement Regards Paul

Thanks for the encouragement Regards Paul Hi RTF, I think you add too much contrast because I saw double line May be a little is better I sometimes slightly reduces the exposure for more sharpness. But I usually do not touch Tiff at the output of the scanner. As you already know, you must scan the photo in Tiff (DNG digital equivalent). With Tiff (not Jpeg) you can better "correct" , as for your last picture. I have an enlarger and I developed directly on paper no need to scan. It's more beautiful Best Henry Edited September 4, 2015 by Doc Henry

ReturningToFilm Posted September 4, 2015 Share #6606 Posted September 4, 2015 Lovely! I really am learning with regards to post processing film digitally. Thanks for your input and encouragement. I have an enlarger as well but struggling to dark out a room sufficiently....how easy it was when I last did my own developing and printing at college over 20 years ago with a dedicated dark room- spoilt and I didn't even realise at the time! If you agree I will continue to post my efforts in the coming days......

Any tips for better exposure appreciated... La Chambre, Aloxon-Corton, France, August 2015 Same equipment as before..... Nice shot. No tips...in something with that wide a dynamic range...one of the two ends is going to go off the chart! Either expose for the windows...and let the interior be dark. Expose for the interior and blow out the windows. OR Expose for the windows and add some light via fill flash to the interior to bring them more in line with each other.

Best paul Paul, I like HP5 too (like in fog picture above) but if you like "deep" black with a good contrast try a roll of Kodak TX400 IMO . 7mn30 is a good time but with grain.
