We have a couple of weeks vacation now, I'll take a roll Ilford Pan F Plus Iso 50 in the next few days. I ordered ten more rolls of this film, but the ideal conditions (for my shots) will be later in the year when the trees has no leaves.

Ah, con-trails. Nicely done, Philip.

I remember in the 70s watching a Daniel Boone movie set in the pioneer days in Kentucky and right there on the screen was a huge con-trail in the sky above the actors portraying Daniel Boone and his American Indan sidekick.

Your photo brought a smile to my face.

I like your Portra 400 colors much better now that you develop yourself. Thank you for your extra work.  To me there is better image quality thanks to improvement in the colors.

David , thanks for your encouragement and comment

I remind  that first tests were not satisfactory. This time it's good  :)

My next step is E6 for Provia slides

I'd like to say that I was polite enough not to mention your first tests, but at my age it is my memory that lost your first steps.

Reminds me of one thing about Portra 400 I've wanted to ask you.

The data sheets recommend f/11 and 1/500 for "Bright/Hazy sun and distinct shadows" light source.

Dr. Henry, I have been using "Sunny f/16" Rule and Kodak's "Bright/Hazy sun" recommendations since the 1970s.  A setting of f/11 and 1/500 = 200ISO film speed to me, not 400ISO.

I know your M7's DX sensor is working, which means those photos have been exposed at 400ISO.  Have you tried overexposing by one stop (i.e. treating Portra as a 200-speed film) for all but the highest contrast subjects?

First post for quite a while. One from the first roll put through the replacement M7 that Wetzlar sent me in April in exchange for my problematic, unreliable one. Biogon f2.0 35mm, yellow filter, Acros 100, Rodinal 1:50.

Wow, if my trees would all turn out so nicely, I would be shooting trees a lot! I must try Rodinal someday.
