Cool... Just curious how you are able to get photos without the motifs seemingly knowing you are shooting and reacting..,

Good stuff!

Good morning from Atlanta... just waiting on the sun to rise in the sultry Deep South.

It just dawned on me, no pun intended, that we have two major metropolitan areas being presented in film recently, Chicago and New York.

How many other major cities? I will go back over the last 30 pages or so and post a few more from Atlanta.

Film has certainly captured both the hearts and minds through the years and continues to do so with this thread.

Apologies for being absent for awhile, 24/7 caregiving and life itself tend to get in the way of just living.

It is difficult to find time to shoot, develop film (which I just started doing this week), and visit forums for my own therapy. The time available is short and after an 18 month hiatus, my therapist recommended strongly that I get involved in photography forums for my own therapy. I resisted due to my deep depression but out of desperation, I realized that social isolation and creative suppression was deadly for me. So, when I found that I had a renewed interest in photography, specifically Leica and film, I pulled on my boots, grabbed the boot straps and lifted myself out of the muck of life. I am so grateful that happened but it was extremely hard just to do something simple and enjoy what I enjoyed before. The reason I let you in on a small corner of my life, and my inadequacies as a human living in defeat, is to set the facts out for me to see as I state my own feelings about this thread.

There is much discussion around about diluting the "Leica gear only" nature of this thread. I understand and I am sympathetic towards all who have stated their position. I am disheartened to find a disruption of a few moments in the day when I am free to enter another part of the world to enjoy Leica-centered discussion. Please know that I have a long history with Nikon and other camera brands as well as different formats, medium format and, of course, DSLRs professionally. But these days I am only on LUF for the discussion of Leica film cameras. I am not that interested in the gear anymore as I am happy with my M3 and my M6. The little time I have to visit forums is precious and difficult as it is to find this thread and it is tucked in under "Other". The discussions are filed under "Other"! A special interest is already handicapped by the forum (sub-forum) title. Now there is discussion about diluting the special nature to include a lot of other wonderful images from wonderful formats and brands. I feel, personally, that it will make my own visits less frequent as I have enough to deal with just getting to this place as it is. This is a fantastic thread with amazing people posting here. I am learning quite a lot. I don't look forward to reading through a lot of posts on the iphone just to find images made from Leica bodies and/or lenses. The munchkin nature of an iphone drives me up a wall sometimes but I enjoy the portability, otherwise, I would never find time to visit from my PC.

I will finish now with a caveat about diluting special interests. As a charter member years ago in the Nikon forum (yes, the big one), the manual focus section which included our beloved rangefinders was extremely busy and had many knowledgeable people. That was maybe 8-10 years ago. The administration lumped all of the RF and manual focus discussions in with every film camera Nikon made. And of course, they started charging $25/year for the privilege. Within a year, the forum was abandoned. Today, there may be a handful of posts on a daily basis, if they are lucky. The people I knew on THAT forum migrated to the huge rangefinder forum that I have enjoyed for so long. So, my point is simply a statement that I learn anew everyday, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." I will add to that what Andreas said, LUF has to be very careful how they make changes. I am very interested in making changes when they improve the forum and serve the membership well. This is my last comment on this topic. Carry on and I will try to keep up! :)

Whatever is decided, I will continue to respect the final direction and, hopefully, be a contributor. I only wish I had more to offer.

Hi All,

Sorry but I was very busy these days, hence my absence.

To return to the Adam's question and also to answer David, I think the Leica spirit must prevail above all , because the forum is a Leica forum.

But if you look at this thread, it happens that some users have posted pictures of non Leica in 6x6 for example with a Hasselblad (portraits are beautiful with this camera). Andreas does not want to create yet a specific forum to the film as Adam wanted for the moment , but I think our request has been consider by Andreas.  We will see later if Andreas will create this section .

The thread is primarily a meeting place as David said, then it is to show our know-how in the field of film photography (method, techniques for shooting or for development film or printing , cameras, lenses etc ...) All the contributors were willing to show their knowledge and I thank them . :)

This thread is very interesting and I'm glad is starting to interest LF members , because he deserves it. The pictures are of good quality.

On the other hand, I also know that some of you continue to shoot in digital like me (but less now)

Long live the film  and thank you all, especially Adam, Chris and David.

Best regards

Henry

The great Bay of Somme (70 km2) .

It is considered a particularly high ornithological place.  Its different areas offer favorable reception conditions for resident and migratory birds.
