The yellow filter has higher contrast all over - it makes a fuzzy scene look good? ;)

Not even a yellow filter could save this "yacht" ;) (the background looks good though)

... sometimes it is certain that a filter can give a slight improvement to a photo,

but is it necessary because it can degrade the atmosphere right  ?
if not , I agree to the addition of filters....  although I have no filter

A photo of the 'kop van zuid' in Rotterdam, the beige tower is where I currently live since a month and a half. Lovely area, with a beautiful view from the apartment.

Not a very interesting image, but special for myself.

How about a picture without correction ?

Hello Henry,

compose the image you put on the shooting situation fixed for themselves....

However it can not be excluded at a later observation that a correction is made which further improved the shot

I agree Ingrid !

I don't need to improve the shot , because I want to keep the original atmosphere and this "mid full dark" and quiet ambiance of the church, as I feel at the time of taking the picture.

Thanks for your comment much appreciated :)

Best regards

Henry

Ingrid, the picture posted above is without correction.

I think I prefer b&w without filter, it gives softer tones. Here are two - with and without yellow filter (both M7 Summarit-M 50/2.5 Ilford XP2),
