Cuthbert Posted May 5, 2015 Share #4341 Posted May 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ellie , here is a picture of my MP mounted with a 135 Apo Telyt Asph. The grip is very useful to properly hold the camera as it is a bit heavy on the front I often use a tripod with this combo L1016474mpapotelyt135m8me90lfht+++900.jpg Leica M8 MacroElmar 90 Best Henry How does the MP handle the long lens? In my system there still is a place for a 135 mm but I have always been hesitant because I thought it would be too long, for the Jupiter 11 on my soviet rfs I use an external finder. Doc Henry Posted May 5, 2015 Author Share #4342 Posted May 5, 2015 Cuthbert, I have no problem to focus with this "long" lens. It is in the smaller frame of the viewfinder , we do the focusand sometimes I don't need magnifier because the rangefinder is very accurate and with my eyes , without glasses, no need loupe Best Henry

Ellie Posted May 6, 2015 Share #4351 Posted May 6, 2015 Henry, I got a M9-P 2011 and I'm sending it to Leica today. Doc Henry Posted May 6, 2015 Author Share #4352 Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Ellie, mine (M9 bought new) too , sent last year for corrosion. Anyway digital has a limited life, with the race for pixels that depreciates quickly, do not have the film quality (color, contrast, , deep black, nice gray scale, non smooth edges, etc. ...better general rendering without correction) could have sensor problems, with often dust or grease on the photo * and finally more expensive to purchase ! Keep our film camera ! It's wiser Best Henry * Although film has its dust removed by compressed air Edited May 6, 2015 by Doc Henry

da1nee Posted May 7, 2015 Share #4359 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Daughter, Miami Beach M-A, 35mm summilux asph FLE, Portra 160 Hello Adam, just a Question - after Scanning, do you reduce the grain of your images with various tools? There is nearly no grain in your Portra Scans, especially this one. Neither none of my scans has farly this low amount of grain. Best regards Daniel Edited May 7, 2015 by da1nee
A miller Posted May 7, 2015 Share #4360 Posted May 7, 2015 Hi Daniel - Yes, after scanning, I work with the flat scan in LR to bring it back to life, and at the end I apply some NR and sharpening in LR, the amount of which varies according to the image. Best, Adam
