It's still cheaper than M analog (ex M7)
Worth nothing digital cameras
!

Sad time. At that price if it's me I will keep this M8. It's too easy

Keep our M analog :)

With all respect Henry, 19.000 shots is about 500 rolls of film. That's about 4000-4500 euro including development. Not even adding the money for the scanner you need and the extra time you need to invest in scanning it and the financial costs involved if you shoot more.

Oh if one would buy this M8 for 900 and he shoots 5000 photos a year, he'd have a bargain compared to film?

Just shoot whatever you prefer and accept what it will cost. [emoji6]

I take you far away from here ....just with some pictures

Temple of Heaven Fairy on the edges of "the Perfume river" previously mentioned :)

Here is the legend (source Wikipedia)

" Built in 1601 on the order of the first Nguyên Lords , Nguyên Hoang , who at that time was the governor of Huê (Center VN) According to the royal annals, Hoang while touring the vicinity, was told of the local legend in which an old lady, known as Thiên M (literally "celestial lady"), dressed in red and blue sat at the site, rubbing her cheeks. She foretold that a lord would come and erect a pagoda on the hill to pray for the country's prosperity.  She then vanished after making her prophecy. Upon hearing this, Hoang ordered the construction of a temple at the site, thus the beginning of Thiên Mu"

Hi Allen, it's easy to have pictures with the digital (we have the image immediately) people trigger

without thinking (I mean most people) ? There is a lot of garbage in my opinion.
I was on a mission in 2014 and I shot 7 rolls of film about 280 pictures at the same time I shoot less

than 200 pictures with my digital M, but this was from film that I find most beautiful
I talk like that because I have both systems
analog and digital !

Leica M6 & Summicron 50mm & Ilford XP2.

A couple of left field snaps taken last month.

The missiles are actually recently decommissioned Bristol Bloodhounds (and British, sah! The Swiss used to buy Brit, back in the day), which have a jet-powered first stage (yes, really) that zaps 'em up to Mach 2 and that's when the jets are dropped and the second stage, a normal rocket, kicks in.

Background is that in the late 1950s the Brits had just commissioned the Avro Vulcan nuclear bomber that could fly *so* high and *so* fast and *so* long, that nowt could hope to get near enough to it to shoot the buggah down. Hah! But, ooer, has anyone else got something like this, because if they do we're stuffed... So assuming the Russians would soon field a similar aircraft the Brits designed the Bloodhound system that, yes, could shoot down a Vulcan, or anything like it. Then history did a left turn and the Russians and Americans turned away from fast and high nuke bombers and went all ICBM.

So the Brits ended up with the only anti-nuke bomber missile system that could shoot down the only nuke bomber of its type, erm, our own. Might have been useful in a civil war, one supposes.

The water droplets on the window followed a wet and windy afternoon. This is an example where the camera sees more that the eye because the whole window was so lit up that I couldn't see anything but water and light. Bit of a surprise when the developed film showed the neighbour's house, and an unintended selfie.

I'm sorry Henry, I really can't agree with you on that one and let's say, I shoot analog and digital as well.

From time to time I have a lot of garbage shooting digital. The same can be said shooting film.

As a matter of fact, Almost every picture from my last visit to Asia has been shot with film and although I don't know when I have time to develop them (I might even decide to bring them to a shop) there will be a lot of 'waste'. Partly because I was trying some new stuff and partly because I didn't really have time because I had my toddler with me.

At least to me it's the time and mood that dictates the amount of garbage, not digital vs analog.

Don't take this all in a bad way, but in the way you seem to think about film vs digital I think it's time for you to simply put the M8 / M9 up for sale.

In my case I have no intention selling my M240, although there are quite some EF mount lenses I'm going to sell as I stopped using dslr completely.

I simply want to concentrate on the Hasselblad and the M system and the sale will help me finance an extra M-A.   ;)

Allen thanks for your advice.

I will use my 2 analogue M often and for my 2 digital M less often or not at all !

but I'll keep them .

Anyway remember that my digital 2M cost me the sum of 11,000 Euros, purchased new
I prefer to buy lens losing less value from what I saw on the internet shopping sites

I say like that, but I did not need money and that's why I do not sell my digital M

An another reason ... if it is to sell as M8 at 900 Euros !

On the other hand , my experience in the digital stops with the Leica M8 and M9 CCD.

I will not go further. I prefer to buy the M-A but not immediately
.....back to film as before 2009

but we will not get angry for that  isn't Allen ! :)

Cheers

Henry
