Now some pictures in Kodak Portra 400 for Carl

We are at 350 km / h and the mountain range in the clouds that you see

are the French Pre-Alps,  snowy in April , the Alps (Mont Blanc 4800m )

are behind it. One part of this Pre-Alps is in Provence that Gary knows well.

one more for contre-jour (great dynamic of film)

we go through very hilly pastures with beautiful light green, very relaxing

As usual, no correction needed  for these pictures.

Really relaxing the film,  no dependence Photo Software.

and we only focus , frame and shoot .What pleasure  :)

Thank you Henry. I think film, be it color or B&W relax us as we can not do «chimping» so once we clicked the shutter we just concentrate on the scenery or the person in front of us.

I love the contre-jour image.

Have a nice evening.

I agree with you Carl

Thanks for your comment

Cheers

Henry

Hi A miller. Out of curiosity, do you use a lightmeter with your M-A ?

Thanks

Yes, sure.  I carry a little sekonic to confirm my guess as to the overall exposure value and then adjust from there

I've missed lots of great photos over the last few weeks and hardly shot any myself apart for a roll of Ektachrome, so i had a look through some old shots that i'm sure i have not posted. In the summer when we are stuck for something to do at the weekend we look on the NGS website (National Garden scheme) to see if there are any near by

.... and I want to announce you that today , I received after about 15 days my "chinese" grip .

This is exactly the same grip as Leica , but with an "additional hole" in the middle to screw the tripod

Here's a photo .

The one made in China is behind (for my MP) , the first one in front is from Leica (ref 14 405) for my M7 (I bought new few years ago)

M8 Macro Elmar 90

Some remarks:

Same build quality, I suspect that this is the same factory that manufactures it , but with a great advantage, that is 1/3 of the price (43 Euros vs 130E).

This is the first time,  I buy a product not original Leica, but as Leica abandoned analog cameras (but yet released the M-A) and stopped selling the grip, I must found elsewhere.

But  , if you buy a second hand Leica grip , attention to the black foam for cracks and disintegration of foam (too old and overused)  !

This grip is small and fits nicely in the hand. I no longer use the straps because metal part of the strap scratch my camera when I put in my Billingham bag.
