Henry,

The looks is very different from the outside, and is definitely worth a visit, for the architecture and for the 20th century art that is / was exhibited there.

I'm still enjoying this thread, although my negatives have grown to 4x5" and now 10x8" since I started. I'm currently playing with paper negatives, using Ilford MG RC paper rated at ISO 6, then scanned and inverted. They are very contrasty, and more so in sunlight as the orthochromatic paper is very sensitive to blue light. I've been trying to tone down the contrast with various developers. even going as far as using a monobath of HC-110, Ilford Rapid Fixer and household ammonia (it works, but it stinks). I have some Kentmere grade 2 paper on order as it will tame the contrast and is said to be faster than Ilford MG. Here's a 4x5 paper negative that can justifiably be posted in the Leica forum:

and here's a 10x8 that probably shouldn't!

I'm back to work this week after eight months of chemo and recovery, so all of a sudden I'm doing a lot less developing. Missing the smell of fixer already....

Cuthbert, thanks for your reply.

It also may depend on the film brand !

Which film ? Ilford ?

The second picture is better.

I can not copy the image ,otherwise I will have a little post-processed in Lightroom

They are both Fujifilm Neopan C41, it's hardto find, in different light conditions, I find the second picture pretty defined but a little too contrasty, the trousers of the painter look almost black while the top of the image is basically white, the boat looks less contrasty because the hull was painted bright red...I was curious to understand if anybody has other experience with this film, here there's another example, taken at f4 and at 1/30....it's very fine grain, though! This is the state of the art of film photography in 2015, and I don't feel the need to go digital.

Welcome back Chris :)  Thank you
I think the paper is yellowed a little vintage and a little retro for your last printed picture
I continue to use the Ilford multigrade and It seems to get enough contrasting images in general.

I can push the contrast, with a little more black in slightly more impressive paper or leaving

paper a little more in the developer.
It really depends on the picture  and taste of each of us.

I mainly work with Ilford products because we easily found in shops.
