christoph_d Posted December 20, 2014 Share #2304 Posted December 20, 2014 Good Morning Henry, You can add my name to the list of "likers" of those grainy pictures in general. I am not 100% sure about your subject (the grass), as I find it not distinct enough, my eye wanders too much... Your snowy mountain peaks from 10000 m by comparison has more of a focal point. Just my 2c All the best Christoph
Doc Henry Posted December 20, 2014 Author Share #2305 Posted December 20, 2014 (edited) Thank you Christoph for your comment. compared to the photo view to aircraft, taken with my M8 / M9 the only thing I noticed right away, is the density of the clouds that look different, much smoother, no grain for digital, less relief effect. Clouds, such as fog are formed by water droplets Another picture for you Christoph, your opinion ? Himalaya mountains under snow India is in the foreground Welcome, dear visitor! christoph_d Posted December 20, 2014 Share #2307 Posted December 20, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Henry, My previous comment was more directed at the composition, and there I think your Caucasus / Iran picture is doing very well. Most of the picture are different structures that are inviting to explore, whereby the darker mountain ridge in the foreground gives a focal point for the overall composition. Your image of the grass is less structured, the sharp and unsharp elements too equal, no point of rest or focus is developing for the eye - with this close up picture with elements in and out of focus I miss that. Your Himalaya picture I find not as interesting as the other two. Best regards Christoph
Doc Henry Posted December 20, 2014 Author Share #2308 Posted December 20, 2014 Thanks Christoph for these interesting comments I want to add a remark about Bergger film (post of grass picture) . You can use this film if you want "big" grain Best Henry
