B.Toews Posted October 21, 2014 Share #1881 Posted October 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stunning picture again , Brendan Really, I do not know all brands of film, but this film Arista I like , Brendan, where can we buy it ? BH ? developper ? time? Thanks Thank you! Arista Premium 400 is just rebranded Tri-X, I sometimes use it because it's about half the price of Tri-X where I live. I don't think B&H stocks it anymore, but you should be able to buy it from Freestyle Photo. Here's another landscape from earlier this month. Doc Henry Posted October 22, 2014 Author Share #1884 Posted October 22, 2014 I did a test of Apo Telyt 135, on the M7 and Kodak Portra 400 to shoot sparrows which come and eat "bread" that I put at the window of my house ... it's very cold in our area I like to see the sparrows because they are "rascals" or "rogues" and they have the specialty to "steal" the bread of other sparrows Welcome, dear visitor! Guest Benqui Posted October 22, 2014 Share #1887 Posted October 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nicely lit portrait and the grain after pushing Tmax is very smooth! What developer did you use? Fist of all thank you very much for your kind words! When I push the Tmax 400 I always used the Spuersinn HCD-S and HCD-2 combination. It allows to push the Tmax 400 up to 6400 and more (but my MP stops at 6400). Right now there is a Spuersinn "third generation" developer which should also be very good when you push (or pull) your film. I just tried this new generation for my "normal" development and was very satisfied (very good contrast and sharpness) but next weekend I will try it also for a push development. If it works, I will show the results in the forum. best wishes Marc
Bateleur Posted October 23, 2014 Share #1888 Posted October 23, 2014 Hallo Marc, Very interesting I was not aware of the Spürsinn developers and am reading the Datenblatt now. Looking forward to seeing the results of your tests. Regards Charles

B.Toews Posted October 23, 2014 Share #1894 Posted October 23, 2014 Thanks Henry! I tweaked the contrast a bit on the last photo that I posted, here is the updated version plus another landscape! This was one of my first attempts at a long exposure with film. I used a 2 & 1/2 minute exposure, which was a bit of a guess as it was too dark for my meter, and I was also guessing about compensating for reciprocity.
