plasticman Posted September 26, 2014 Share #1626 Posted September 26, 2014 Get the M240 and learn how to work with Lightroom. You'll only have smooth edges when you want it! Couldn't resist... I wish it was possible to 'unlike' posts like this. On Hacker News members can down-vote posts till they fade-out to invisibility. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the freedom to post whatever you want, and my freedom to ignore it. But I come to some threads (such as this one) to escape the constant digital trolling of everything film, and simply enjoy looking at the beautiful examples of film photography without the annoying background noise. Maybe next time you can resist.
Doc Henry Posted September 26, 2014 Author Share #1627 Posted September 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Get the M240 and learn how to work with Lightroom. You'll only have smooth edges when you want it! Couldn't resist... Ordered the new Leica M magazine, should be arriving anytime now. Allen, I am a lover of poppies and I take every year picture digital as film (I'll post some pictures for you to see the difference) It is impossible to correct the edges..... unless the image is blurred. This is the Photo Software that does it . Also look at the photos of MM and compare with photos from film ! It's not at all the same thing. I hope you do not blame me for this franchise . Leica may be understood in releasing soon the new M-A ! Best regards Henry
tookaphotoof Posted September 26, 2014 Share #1628 Posted September 26, 2014 Plasticman, lighten up a bit. I can't resist the same trolling the other way around. But if you want a serious post from me, I personally think both sides should try to respect each other. Everyone is exaggerating far too much. I enjoy a terribly slow outdated 4x4 and also a very low and fast rear wheel drive lightweight sports car. I like typing on my laptop, but I equally enjoy my fountain pen. I enjoy shooting film and at the same time, I equally enjoy digital. If I'm mistaken and the idea is we can only be serious and praise about how good analog photography is and we should have a censorship about anything digital, then I clearly don't belong in this thread and will leave in peace as i like to keep myself open minded to both platforms. I think your reply is an overreaction. Which is ironic as you start out with the traditional internet 'lighten up' response. I think this forum as a whole is groaning with the relentless, depressing weight of film vs digital rubbish - and here we have one thread which I sometimes come to as a refuge from all of that. You have a different opinion - fair enough. I'm not into censoring anyone.

Best regards Henry Not at all Henry, you know I still have my preferences for film, apart from the fact I'm on my third cinestill roll which doesn't fit in the camera as the canister is bent. At almost 10 euro per roll they could have introduced some sort of quality control. Never had it with any other brand. Anyways, remember this? Yes i like much Allen Nice series . More please Film or M240 converted ? Best Henry That means you were in doubt even though they were truly shot on film (HP5+). I've been misleaded quite a couple of times myself looking at photos from others.
Doc Henry Posted September 26, 2014 Author Share #1631 Posted September 26, 2014 Allen, I do not find the two pictures of the same poppy taken with digital M versus M film , but here are two photos (immediately available to me), that explain what I mean. You to judge "That means you were in doubt even though they were truly shot on film (HP5+)". Allen sometimes yes for color , but if you look closely the "edges or lines", we'll see the difference. chrism Posted September 27, 2014 Share #1639 Posted September 27, 2014 I hear rumours that the Agfa Vista is rebranded Fuji Superia. Nothing wrong with that, if true.
