x
Very nice b&w series ot this nice place !

Practical question for me :

- what is the development time of Acros 100 ?

you plan to further reduce this time ?

- when you write: "Acros 100 @80" it means that it has developed at 80 Isos ?

Thanks Chris

Henry

I was using the recipe given by the Massive Development Chart - it says 11.5 minutes for exposure at ISO80 and 13.5 minutes for ISO100. Since I was looking for some deep blacks I went perhaps a bit too far by choosing to expose the film at ISO80, picking a contrasty developer and then using a yellow filter. I ended up with very high contrast negatives, and those taken into the sun have the skies overexposed. Live and learn.

A question for you Henry, when I shoot contre jour, I tend to meter on the ground below the horizon, lock that exposure and then reframe the picture and take it. I preserve details in the lower half of the photo this way, but I seem to be over-doing it as my skies are often over-exposed. Do you simply trust the M7's meter in this situation, or do you add half to one stop based on your judgement?

Chris, thanks for a chart. It'll be useful for me !

For the exposure, it is difficult to say. What you have said is the classic advice given. The day I shot this photo, I set the "Auto"on M7 and I closed the diaphragm I think it's f: 8 or 11 I then let the camera find the exposure and I focus in the middle (M7 advantage of having a well exposed to the "decisive moment" photo). Secondly, as I said above, the film has the particularity in well supporting "contre-jour" . In any case , it's what I see always with film. Never underexposed or overexposed, here the sky remains blue sky

Regards

Henry

... in addition , it can also happen, as you said, underexpose slightly when shooting (1/3) if light really too strong

Henry, if you hadn't come across the Massive Development Chart before, you might like to know it is available as an app for iPhone and Android. I use it as a timer when developing, and all the recipes in it can be edited if you want to adjust them. It really is wonderful!

I finished another roll of Acros 100 today, but this time I left the yellow filter off and exposed it at 100. Tomorrow I will scan it.

It's been a while since I've posted something. Photos are taken with the MP, Summicron IV and HP5+, about a week before the official opening. Picked up my M240 that day(Sorry Henry :D).

Hike of several days in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars,

finding himself with family and friends .... what good memory :)

and you ? memories also with good photos ?

Here we are in Haute Savoie between 2000-3000 meters (French Alpes)

The air is invigorating and unpolluted as downtown and the silence is everywhere

Ballad in color and with Fuji film Sup 100

a little snowy and under mist

Nice Mercedes vintage Allen :)

Looking at the photos again of this 12th century Cathedral (Laon,France) , I think the depth of the color of Kodak Ektar 100,

including the stone is beautiful and what fidelity compared to what we see . This is a cathedral that I often see !

b&w is good, but the color also

It's not like Kodak Portra , it's another type of film perhaps more adapted for monuments? Chris thinks ?

Yes Henri, you bought the M7 a bit too fast!

It's not a matter of if but when I'll have one next to the MP. [emoji4]

Second color photo of the glass. Very nice!

No problem Allen :)

This will be my third analog M :D , but I'll have to work with a cell exposure metering as my Lunaxis Gossen, and is cheaper than MP and M7 :)

Thanks for your comment
