Thank you GS Gary for your comment

This is a very famous castle as the kings of France came to live there.

The landlord and architect Fouquet was dismissed by the king, probably out of jealousy

because it is a beautiful castle and a beautiful domain with a beautiful forest around the castle

The designer of the garden Le Nôtre is the same as that the famous "Château de Versailles"(Versailles castle)

a dome, below the great hall

you have a beautiful view on top of the dome

Note the "non impeccably smooth edges" (silver grains) of the dome as in digital (pixels smoothing by firmware)

The style of the "French garden" ("le jardin à la française") of a wellknown designer Le Nôtre the same designer as in Versailles castle ,

with its statues, large bronze vessels and stone , and the great perspective of the domain

You can visit the domain in electric car

I really like the color of your pictures, Henry! My attempts so far are rather poorly. My flatbed-scanner is a pain in the a..., but at the moment i can´t afford a better one.

Thanks once more for keeping this thread alive!

The following picture was shot at last years Photokina in Cologne at the Hasselblad-booth:

Leica IIIc, Elmar 3,5 50, Tri-X, developed in Rodinal 1+50:

and another shot "against the light of the sun" in "contre-jour"

a "small" drawbridge

You will notice that the color is always present and all the details of stones in the shadow also always visible :) , impossible in the case of a sensor

like on my M9 ! in contre-jour, the dynamic scale of film is better than in sensor !

.... and the bridge appears in relief (as ballons posted above)

I noticed that the conversion of film KP through SilverEfex is prettier , because we keep this relief we found in color film. Do you agree with me?

In other words, silver grain color film (three layers of silver grains, Red®, Green(G) and Blue (B)) are they more convertible in b&w than color digital

images (one layer of silicium with RGB filters) converted to b&w ?

nice .... i know this has been said before, but i find the real difference between film and digital comes in the print not as much on the screen. even when printing a digitally scanned negative from c1 or lr4 using an epson r2880 the difference really shows -- much more dimensionality and softness in tone gradations in film vs m9.

Steve, that's right, I made enlargements on paper Kokak Royal by my lab on a big Epson printer too. It's really nice with a very warm tone, and color is beautiful , more natural , without correction in LR versus M9 ,

Thanks for your comment

Thanks Stuart for looking

..... another picture

If I compare to audio sound (High Fidelity of sound with perfect reproduction of music in a concert hall), the film is what it is in

the High Fidelity of the image, at the "general" rendering (color, hot and warm pictures, softer... ) :)

left : vacuum amplifier with tubes model 6550 General Electric USA

right : M7 last film analog of Leica (here with MacroElmar 90)

Ah, yes, Henry that is so similar to my everyday kit! In my black Hadley Pro resides R4 with 80 Summilux and the M3...I find this to be almost perfect, missing only an R8 or R9...maybe one day.

Due to my schedule I may have to wait for a similar photo! But here is my M3.

after 27 years of good and loyal service:mad:

I do not know if it can be repaired or not
