Michael, a solid general advice. I'll try and be more patient with it and see what follows.

Still, I will send it to Solms unde warranty anyway just because I only have couple of months of warranty left and also it won't cost me a thing.. I suspect they'll give it cla of somekind anyhow even if they don't see anything wrong with it.

Well, this is a surprising situation...after a year and a half with the X1, I find it always accurate with only a handful of mis-focused shots and all were attributed to slight movement while using the screen. As Thorsten mentions, use the camera you love, get to bond with it and unless there is something technically wrong with the camera, you will get great results with it.

To the OP, maybe you should send it in to Leica for something since the warranty is almost up.

Let's see what happens. Took mine to the stealer today and they'll send it to Solms. I'll report back when I hear something.

In the mean time, which focus mode do you guys use? I was using the Spot focus, not the 1-area focus. I read somewhere that it might actually be the one to blame..

I went through some vacation photos taken in bright daylight (F5.6 @1/1600s) and they were a complete mess. I was taking photos of my daughter jumping on a trampoline and definitely pre-focused etc but still nothing was pin sharp! At first I was thinking motion blur, but when I checked the shutter speed being 1/1600s it definitely isn't that. There were big things to focus on right behind her, but those were completely out of focus (in bokeh I would say) so it didn't pre-focus there either..

Focus on my X2 is terrible, it's cost me a lot of pictures (like the one below, where I was focusing on my son's face). I have an X1 as well, and while that camera takes longer to focus when it does it gets it perfectly almost every time.

I've been using spot focus, but I will try the small area focus and see if that helps.
