atournas Posted May 29, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted May 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Does anyone happen to know whether there is any difference in optical performance between the Macro-Elmarit-R 2,8/60mm ROM and the 3-cam Macro-Elmarit-R 2,8/60mm version? Any reason to avoid the 3-cam lens? Â Thanks, Paul
Advertisement Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Hi atournas, Take a look here Macro-Elmarit-R 2,8/60mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wildlightphoto Posted May 29, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted May 29, 2013 No difference. BTW cams do not always indicate the age or version of a lens. For example a ROM lens may have been updated from a 1972 2-cam lens.
SteveYork Posted June 1, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted June 1, 2013 Later lenses probably have an improved coating, but the optical formula is the same. I just started shooting this lens on a Leicaflex SL, and that's a nice combination. Someday I might have sell off the remainder of my ridiculous M stuff. Hugh 38 Posted June 2, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted June 2, 2013 Last year I bought a well used 3 cam 60mm which had seen a lot of use , traveled miles over deserts and mountains .I cleaned it up and it is great. A very versatile lens . As mentioned then number of cams or rom fitting does not indicate age as they can be added and removed. Do take into account what the lens will be fittted on to. I can not use Rom lenses on my SL / SL2 so do not have any .
