That's sad; they should be donated to a local school, [...]

I tried to donate a s*it load of darkroom equipment to a local university and they rejected the offer. They are transforming darkroom space into administrative offices. It is a perennial cycle.

It is all digital now. I just smile and move on. Life is too short to deal with trends.

I will add a somewhat off-topic incident: I have every single issue of The Berkeley Barb published in pristine, unread condition. Yah, it is a rag but it was hugely influential during its time. There are historians trying to stitch together the happenings and social paradigm of its era. However I could not even GIVE the collection away because the universities said the could not handle the expense of cataloging the collection. So be it.

Just today I picked up the stuff (paper, chems, trays, red bulb) to use with a B22 Omega with custom extra-large baseboard that I got from the shop for $15 six months ago, after it sat around for a year unloved.

(The "stuff" cost 15x what the enlarger itself did. ;) )

Now just waiting for night to fall to give it a whirl, since the basement location is not yet light-proofed. These will be my first chemical prints in about 18 years.

Mostly, I just want to see what "pure analog-to-analog with hands-on control" looks like again. Check that my skills are still there. And mess around with 6x6 B&W without having to upgrade my 10-year-old scanner.
