Advertisement Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hi santila, Take a look here Wimberley Head. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dkCambridgeshire Posted April 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2007 Have not used the Wimberley but have bought and used the Manfrotto 393 with my 560/5.6 telyt .. and it works very well .. worth checking out reports for the Manfrotto 393 via Google ... the 393 is popular with birders ... and it is very much cheaper to buy. It enables balancing of the camera/lens combination right on the centre of gravity. Dunk

mwilliamsphotography Posted April 3, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2007 I used a Wimberly head with a Canon 400/2.8 non-IS lens. It's fantastic. Tension and balance can be set so you can move monster lenses with one finger, then lock it down when positioned correctly. Rock solid support when used with the right tri-pod. Highly recommended. santila Posted April 3, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted April 3, 2007 Thanks for the replies, however we forgetting one thing the Telyt R 560mm/6.8 lens is not an auto focus lens but rather a pistol grip retro focus design. Currently I am using this lens on the Gitzo Studex tripod with an Arca Monoball. I was more interested if some one uses the lens with the Wimberley head and the result obtained as vibration reduction.
