andybarton Posted April 2, 2007 Share #1  Posted April 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Quote from "someone who knows" in MK this afternoon...  I'm afraid this problem lies very much with Apple Mac. We are asking them to add the DNG RAW to Aperture but they do seem very reluctant to add it. Perhaps you could lobby Apple  Perhaps we could
Advertisement Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Lack of DNG support really is down to Apple. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sdai Posted April 2, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Apple is really just a one man show ... email Jobs.

Guest sirvine Posted April 2, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Steve's been a little busy getting DRM-free music released on iTunes! I think I'd rather have that than M8 support as long as Lightroom fills the gap.
ho_co Posted April 2, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Andy--who is "MK"? Â Simon et al-- You're not half wrong about Jobs. Â If Leica were to loan him an M8 system for a couple months, the next version of Aperture would support it. Â --HC
stunsworth Posted April 2, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Howard I think MK = Milton Keynes, the location of Leica's UK head office.

andybarton Posted April 3, 2007 Author Share #9 Â Posted April 3, 2007 Andy:Â The real shame of it is you will get your wish, but it will be M8 DNG, not DMR DNG supported. This is very true. The DMR is now unsupported (in the firmware department) and with only 10,000 units ever to be sold, is FAR too hard for Apple to bother to with... Â With M8s flying out of the door (I was in a dealer yesterday who sold 5 yesterday morning), support for their own unique brand of DNG may eventually come. ho_co Posted April 3, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted April 3, 2007 Wow, Andy-- Both those numbers are astonishing! Â I hadn't heard quantities for DMR and I'm quite impressed. Or maybe nonplussed. Â And no dealer is going to complain at five M8 sales before noon! (Could you tell us what city that dealer is in?) Â Â BTW--I'm geographically lost. Where/what is "Airstrip 1 - 53:17:00N 03:04:00W"?
