mobine Posted April 2, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know where (aside from Photovillage, they are soldout) I can get a Artisan and Artist Oskar Day Bag (used is ok)? I was about to purchase an Evans Walker, but after reading previous posts it seems as though it may be too large. I am interested in a light bag that will fit my M8 with lense plus an extra lens, for a month long trip to Europe and then to Asia (a great deal of walking requires a smaller bag). It also needs to be relatively inconsoicous and nice for meetings.
Advertisement Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hi mobine, Take a look here Artisan and Artist Bag. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
B&W Posted April 2, 2007 Share #2  Posted April 2, 2007 The Evans Walker is 100% perfect for M8 with one lens attached plus one extra lens. It’s a small bag (too small in my opinion) I did use it before I bought the Lee's Luxury bag  I have seen a web shop in UK but I don't remember the name - sorry But I can highly recommend Photovillage
roubaix Posted April 2, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 2, 2007 I also tried to get that bag with no luck. Instead Photovillage sold me a GCAM 7200 (not on their web site) which I love. Fits my M8 with 35 cron, 90/4, and CV15 with more room in pockets. Great build quality, very classy looking, yet compact. Â Peter
arnoldkramer Posted April 2, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 2, 2007 I just bought an Evans Walker bag from Photovillage. I like it very much. Perfect for a body with mounted lens and two additional lenses plus small accessories. They had them in stock last week.
cometsoft Posted April 2, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 2, 2007 According to the person I spoke with at Photo Village (over a month ago) they are no longer making the Oskar. Â I bought the GCAM 7200 which is great. My only criticism is that there is only velcro holding the flap to the body of the bag. The velcro is fairly strong though, I tested holding the bag upside down and nothing fell out. The problem is that you have to have almost 100% velcro to velcro contact to make a strong bond. I'm thinking of adding some kind of third party buckle/clasp. Â Aside from that it is so much faster to have a bag without a zipper.
mobine Posted April 2, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted April 2, 2007 Thanks for all the great info. Does anyone have any pics of the GCAM7200 or the Evans Walker while wearing it. I would just like to see it in perspective. I would greatly appreciate it.
Jager Posted April 3, 2007 Share #7  Posted April 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Welcome to the forum, Hector.  Check this thread and scroll down to the post by Geoff Hall. Geoff posted the link to the Japanese web site where the GCAM-7200 can be seen.  http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/18423-any-one-have-pictures-artisan-artists.html?highlight=artisan+artist  FWIW, I too was looking for the Oskar Day Bag. Photo Village was out of stock and Rich urged me to take a look at the GCAM-7200. After perusing the above thread, that's what I went ahead and ordered.  I can't say enough about the bag - it's perfect as the "light carry" I wanted (M8, one spare lens, a few small accessories). I've got other bags I use if I want to carry more.  And since it's a carry bag - to be used when actively shooting - I find the lack of a zipper (velcro only) is a big advantage. It's very quick and easy to get the camera in and out of the bag.  Very much recommended.  Jeff

carstenw Posted April 4, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted April 4, 2007 Peter or Robert, could you post a shot of the GCAM 7200? Â Would a 75 Lux fit in that bag stacked with a smaller lens, in one of the slots?

I believe the Lux is longer than the Cron.  I carry one m8 with a 75mm Cron, a 24mm Elmarit, and a 35mm Cron.
