vcs700s Posted May 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well I took the M8 and new lens out for it's initial outing a few minutes ago. My main concern was working with the focus. I have to tell you I am pleasantly surprised with the results. All but one pic look great. This lens is a work of art and as smooth as butter. Very nice. Better pics to come once I get more use to it. Loving the M8!

Guest rivercityrocker Posted May 4, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2013 I was pretty surprised at how easily it was to get the hang of manually focusing after relying on AF so much for the past decade or more. Using the M8 is definitely a great experience.

vcs700s Posted May 5, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted May 5, 2013 I think 35mm is the perfect focal length for the M8 I agree. And I just found out the camera has 1081 actuations including what I took today! So cool!
Guest rivercityrocker Posted May 5, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 5, 2013 Wow. I shot 1800 frames on my DSLR just today! I was at a 5K run with 12,000 runners though... I thought I got a good deal on my M8 with only 7500 clicks. Yours is pretty much brand new! Mine came with a 28mm lens, which I thought would be perfect with the crop, but I have found that I prefer the 35mm much more. Which is odd, because on my full-frame DSLR the 35mm lives on it. I think it's due to the close focusing limitations though. In any case, welcome from one new M8 user to another!
