jamriman Posted April 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M8 did this noise reduction thing. It said Noise reduction and began to count down. Then these sparkly images appeared on my card. What caused this? How come I cannot find away to repeat this process. Thanks

Kind regards, Etienne
rwfreund Posted April 1, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2007 Many digital cameras do this. The camera takes a dark exposure of the same length and then subtracts it from the image. That way the noise resulting from the long exposure is reduced in the final result.
chetccox Posted April 1, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 1, 2007 The Leica manual for the M8 is available in several languages. Here is a link to the German one: Leica Camera AG - Downloads
george + Posted April 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2007 You can repeat the process by taking an exposure with the lens cap on. The exposure itself will take about 32 seconds and then come the blinking lights. Once this is all over you can push PLAY, as the image comes up there will be small light spots before it all - more or less - blacks out. Pretty confusing when it happens first. Automation, eh . . .
