We're quite close to Bury (near Diss) do you go there often? Something for the weekend? no, something for the WATE!

Hi Guy thank you - and congratulations on your decision - my Nikon gear all went to ebay in January, and I haven't even noticed it's missing (my son has though, he can't borrow the lenses anymore!) Photoskeptic Posted March 31, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 31, 2007 Congrats Jono. Just received my chrome this week. Already having fun with it, too. My only problem now is two film bodies and the digital and just one lens to pass around between the three! Got the CV 15 arriving next week, however:) Nice capture by the way. Cheers and good light, John
awolf Posted March 31, 2007 Share #9 Posted March 31, 2007 Nice shot. I am getting used to my new one. Not quite my Rollei but at least I can use it without a tripod. Zenfolio | awolf
kidigital Posted March 31, 2007 Share #10 Posted March 31, 2007 The chrome M8 finally returned from Solms this week joining the black M8 that was supposed to be "just an interim" solution during the fix. I'm starting to feel like the "interim" tag might have to go.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 31, 2007 Share #11 Posted March 31, 2007 It's like buying a Almond Joy candy bar with two pieces in it the first one taste good but the second leaves a great after taste.
DaveEP Posted March 31, 2007 Share #12 Posted March 31, 2007 It sure would be nice to have a second M8, both as a backup, but also because it would mean less lens changes. Given the cost of a new TE vs a second M8, I am leaning towards a second M8. I have a chrome one now, but would probably go for a black one as a second body. The problem comes when the "Mrs" makes some observations about her not getting that diamond bracelet yet, but here is a second M8, whereas another lens is just a long round black thing, and I have enough of those already that she may not notice another...... Nice shot BTW Jono
rwfreund Posted March 31, 2007 Share #13 Posted March 31, 2007 I told my wife that you cannot take pictures with a diamond. Hmm, should set up my black m8 for B&W and get a chrome one for chromes :-)
jonoslack Posted March 31, 2007 Author Share #14 Posted March 31, 2007 LOL hi everyone. For me, the black was not an issue - my wife probably wouldn't have noticed anyway, but my son would certainly notice . . . . in fact, Emma is a darling, and the new M8 was discussed at some length and approval granted - Silas was much more critical! ("That lot cost as much as my new car"). Either way, I'm much too much of a child with a new toy to be able to escape without notice, and as Emma does the accounts; negotiation is the only possible way forward! marknorton Posted March 31, 2007 Share #15 Posted March 31, 2007 Well, we're very pleased for you, we enjoy your pictures, so that should be ample justification!
DaveEP Posted March 31, 2007 Share #16 Posted March 31, 2007 I told my wife that you cannot take pictures with a diamond. I am afraid that will not make any difference..... especially when she wants a cruise to the Caribbean or to fly to Dubai to buy them! I just don't see what women see in Diamonds.... ok yes they are 'pretty', but like you said, they don't take pictures! I am a firm believer that men and women are different...... (apart from the obvious 'bits' added or missing here and there...). Women buy things that 'are' something (they 'are' pretty, they 'are' smelly etc etc) Men buy things that 'do' things. BIG difference!
