What normal gives the best bang for the buck?

My vote would be (if you can find one) a used CV 50mm 1.5 - rated highly by Reid. I think I paid approx £200 for mine late last year.

 

My biggest "bang for the buck" 50 was a 1950 Elmar 50 3.5 bought for £79! It has had a knock (a bent front ring) but the glass is excellent and the images are unaffected despite the battle scar. A delightful and tiny lens to use on my M8.2.
