Vip Posted April 2, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have received 10 days ago the new black M 240. The camera is perfect much better than I expect. Images are gorgeous. The focus on the rangenfinder is beatiful as always ( even better with the illuminated edges) The Visoflex focus with the automatic zoom is very helpful in difficult condition and specially with my 90 f 2 Apo. But the focus peaking is not that I had wished as it highlights in red. I am partially color blind to red-green so I can not see well. But this is not a rare condition ( I am Ophthalmologist) it involves 30% of the population the partial color blindness. I suggest to Leica to aloud different color edge highlight .so that any customer can choose what he sees.
Advertisement Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Hi Vip, Take a look here The new M240 focus peaking. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted April 2, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2013 The red focus lines are sometimes hard to see even for those who would otherwise see all colors;) I agree that focus peaking needs to be a bit more user-customizable (sensitivity, line width - and color indeed). Rick Posted April 2, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 2, 2013 I am partially color blind to red-green so I can not see well. But this is not a rare condition ( I am Ophthalmologist) it involves 30% of the population the partial color blindness. Red-green color deficiencies are actually closer to 8.5%. But, I can appreciate and understand your challenge. I also agree with the previous poster that the red outline is often very difficult to see even for those of us with normal color vision. ddanois Posted April 3, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2013 Not sure that this will help you but I have found that changing the "film mode" to B&W will display the LV only (color image displayed in LR) in B&W and is MUCh easier to see the red highlights of the focus peeking.
