andym911 Posted April 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just out of interest does anyone else give their vulcanit a bit of care every now and then? On all my original Vulcanit camera 's LTM and M models I give them a good dose of a certain oil every year or so, just a light covering. The oil I use is Ballistol oil, which is great for leather, weapons etc...even Dog's Ears! It keeps the vulcanit not only looking good but gives it a nice feel.I am also convinced it helps keep it from becoming too brittle with time. That s what I do...just wondering if anyone does similar. best andy
Advertisement Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Hi andym911, Take a look here taking care of Vulcanit cover. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Accipiter Posted April 3, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2013 Interesting use of the Ballistol. I've never thought of this application, but now I'll try it on a M4.

k_g_wolf ✝ Posted April 10, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 10, 2013 Vinyl (PVC) is a different story, you find it on the "modern" M-cameras (>M6). The vulcanite-coverings of the older types is something else and should perhaps be treated different. Try BALLISTOL carefully, doesn´t do any harm.
