davidfung Posted April 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I posted this earlier in another thread, and it may have got lost. But I have found that starting up the X2 without a SD card is significantly faster than with my Lexar 128 Gb Pro 133x card. Whether the card is empty or full. I have found that when the card is full, it is a little slower then with the card empty. But the difference between no card and with the card is double. When I mean the startup speed, I am talking about between turning it on, and then seeing the image on the LCD and then being able to take a photo. Anyone else have this issue? Advertisement Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Hi davidfung, Take a look here Startup speed of X2 with SD Card. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
davidfung Posted April 1, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted April 1, 2013 I just did a quick test. All timings are very rough estimates. 1. No SD Card - startup and screen in less than 1 second. 2. Lexar Professional SD-XC 133x 128 GB Class 10 - 2 seconds. 3. Transcend SD-HC 16GB Class 6 - 2 seconds. 4. Sandisk SD 2Gb Class 2 - 1 second. 5. Sandisk SD Ultra II 1Gb - 1 second 6. Sandisk SD-HC Extreme 16Gb Class 10 - 1 second Each card freshly formatted on the X2. General comments is that the 128Gb card is the slowest. Obviously the writes speeds are quite different between the Class 2 and the Class 10 cards. These are the cards that I have, would be interesting to see other's thoughts and experiences.
