Appmax Posted March 24, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted March 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought a 35mm Summilux yesterday from my local dealer. The lens has great IQ, as expected. My question relates to how solid the f-stop "click" should be. All f-stop settings solidly click into place except f-1.4. That stop does have a "click" but I can turn the ring a bit more before it hits a hard stop. I called my dealer to ask about this and he said this was normal. He has a second Summilux and said that one was the same. I have 4 other Leica lenses and three don't have any extra-give at the minimum or maximum f-stop. I have a 90mm Summicron and that one does have a bit of give beyond the f-2 "click" setting. Â I just spent $5k on a lens and want it to be right. If this is normal, great, I am happy. If this is a manufacturing defect, I need to return, exchange, etc. Â Any perspectives on this would be appreciated.

Dirk Mandeville Posted March 25, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted March 25, 2013 Congrats on getting your Summilux. I think you made the right choice. If you still hanker for that Sony, I would wait a little while and pick one up on the used market for a much more reasonable price. Here's hoping you get your M soon. philipus Posted March 25, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted March 25, 2013 35 Summilux aperture wider than 1.4? Â For instance, about my 35.
Appmax Posted March 25, 2013 Author Share #7 Â Posted March 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dirk - Thanks - all the feedback swayed me to ride out with my Nex 5 and buy a Leica lens until my new M arrives rather than go with RX1.
