Guest D-Lux 6 Posted March 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I noticed that the battery compartment door on the D-Lux 6 has a small opening covered by a rubber tab. I guessed this was so that one could run some sort of AC adapter plug-in into some type of conversion battery-type device, but I've never seen an item like that offered. Does anyone know why this is there? I would like the option to use AC power to run the camera for video, and not worry about battery changes. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Les_Sismore Posted March 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 22, 2013 The option of extended operation using AC power is one of many features of the parent Lumix LX7 that does not appear to be mentioned in the D-Lux 6 literature and instruction manuals, or anywhere on the Leica website. For operation using AC power you will need the Lumix AC adapter (part no DMW-AC5) with a power cord to suit your domestic supply and the DC coupler (part no DMW-DCC7) that replaces the battery. Whether Leica would extend the warranty on the D-Lux 6 to cover this arrangement is an open question. Other really useful Lumix LX7 accessories that fit straight on to the D-Lux 6 include the filter adapter ring (DMW-FA1 for UV, polarising and other filters or step-up rings), and the lens adapters - all of which are described on the Panasonic Lumix LX7 website. I'd like to ask though, have you used the filter adaptor kit (DMW-FA1)? and was the removal of the factory installed "outer ring" difficult for you (if you have indeed used it)? Guest D-Lux 6 Posted April 19, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 19, 2013 Probably a nice feature to have, as the batteries for the D-Lux 6 "compact" camera are quite small. When buying replacement batteries, I'd recommend "biting the bullet" and spending the extra for Leica brand, as the less expensive brand I purchase result in corrupted images on the SDHC chip.
