Guest Posto 6 Posted November 6, 2008 Share #21 Posted November 6, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks all for the advise and response. Posto 6, how do you find the white paint refill on the top plate engravings of the M3 and M4? Are they up to your expection? Does the black paintt they used close to the orignial Leica black paint? Would love to see some pics of the black M3. Please. ----------------------------------------- Sze-Han Kueh The infill is fine, as it has hardened with age, and is undistinguishable from the original. The paint is somewhat more matt than the Leica enamel, and, being far harder, does not wear through easily. The overall painting and finish greatly exceeded expectations, especially as the M4 (restored to as-new condition) was heavily dented and bashed on top. Additionally, the M3's rangefinder was overhauled to original spec (fantastic!), and a very thorough CLA was also performed (on camera and Leicameter-MR). While the M4 is not with me, I will try to post some pictures of the M3 over the weekend, before I travel again.
