jonoslack Posted March 28, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi There I still don't have my filters yet - on the other hand, although I'm missing them for urban work, I'm getting pretty good results with foliage in landscapes - increasing the red and yellow hue by about 10 pts seems to produce excellent greens. these shots were taken today in a garden hidden in the folds of the moors near Lands End, at the tip of Cornwall - the Gunnera is just waking after it's winter break - they're already 5 feet high, and look to me like something from another planet. In a few weeks they'll be over 10 feet and filling the garden. Â this first shot was taken with the WATE: Â Â As far as I can see, the increasing of the red and yellow hue has made these greens as 'real' as one would want - personally, if this is the penalty, I'd rather deal with this than with cyan corners for ultra wide angles. Â the following three with the 90mm elmarit - all shot RAW at 160 ISO and processed in Lightroom with a special preset: Â Â Â Â I know that there are lots of situations where a filter is absolutely necessary, but I don't think one has to be frightened to shoot colour without one, and in some cases the cyan vignetting 'trade off' may not be worth the effort. losta Posted March 28, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 28, 2007 Way cool foliage! Nice to see some green. Spring is about to start here in N.Y. (everything is still brown and no leaves yet) so it's really nice to see these other worldly plants. These would make some nice BIG prints.
jonoslack Posted March 29, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 29, 2007 Thank you Guy and Lisa. I'm working on the big(ish) prints - the largest I can do in house is A2 (17X25). They certainly are wierd!
