C_R Posted March 10, 2013 Share #1  Posted March 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) A question for NEX-7 and/ or OM-D owners:  When focus speed is not crucial (landscape), what is better ?  The NEX-7 offers more real estate with larger sensor size, bigger should be better with respect to tonal quality. But the OM-D has a high rated in-body image stabilzation, and could have an edge in IQ when shooting handheld.  I dont think that this lens is outresolved by smaller sensors.  Thanks for your input  Carsten Flickr
Advertisement Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Hi C_R, Take a look here Elmar 135 on NEX-7 or OM-D ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
peter_n Posted March 11, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted March 11, 2013 I cannot speak to the OM-D but I have used my 135mm Tele-Elmar on my NEX-7 to good effect. It's a 200mm lens on that body and it's relatively heavy so the combo is decidedly front-heavy. The NEX-7 high ISO performance is good but I usually use a tripod with the 135 and as with all Leica lenses the Sony sensor produces terrific image quality. C_R Posted March 11, 2013 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 11, 2013 Good to hear that it works on the NEX-7. Because I usually dont use a tripod it would be interesting to see what the OM-D image stabilization does for IQ as compared to handheld NEX-7 shots.
