Tethered D-lux5

Guest D-Lux 6

Though I've not used my D-Lux 6 tethered, I noticed that the battery compartment door had a small opening covered by a rubber tab. I guessed this was so one could run some sort of AV plug-in into some type of conversion battery type device, but I've never seen an item like that offered. Is this indeed what you mean? And where does one find the adaptors?

Hi,

There is a micro USB socket on the inside of a small door on the D-lux 5, which will enable the camera to be connected to a computer. A lead is supplied with the D-lux 5. But I don't have any software that enables be to view images or control the camera. My Digilux 2 had both lead and software to enable me to do this.

Welcome to my world, the thethering is currently being restricted to SLR's only except the EOS M is the only non-SLR that can be tethered. The Digilux 2 software no longer works on OSX 10.8, the Canon G10 software no longer supports tethering but it did when I bought it. 8 years ago even basic canon and Nikon cameras could be operated with tethering software. I don't understand why the manufacturers have removed this functionality. I use tethered cameras in my business and because I have bought a new computer I have to replace perfectly good cameras - maddening.

Hi Paul,

Yes that is the problem as OS's move on some of our useful equipment is not supported.

My D2 worked well tethered, but since upgrading my Pc to Windows7 64bit, it is no longer operational.
