Peter H Posted March 2, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted March 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone come across this problem? Â For a few years now I've been happily printing away from CS4 on my iMac to an Epson R2880. Â Suddenly this afternoon each time I send a file to print from CS4, the paper feeds through the printer and comes out blank. Â If however I print from LR4 it prints perfectly, so it doesn't feel like a hardware problem. And I've tried various papers and sizes. Naturally I've checked every setting I can think of, and I've tried printing photos on the exact same saved setting I've previously successfully printed them from. But what used to work now doesn't, even where nothing I can see has changed. Â The only thing I can think of is that I've updated OSX to the latest version: has this caused this type of problem for anyone else? Â Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong? Any (or should I say most) suggestions gratefully received. Â Thank you!

AndyMc Posted March 4, 2013 Share #2  Posted March 4, 2013 Are you setting a cover page? Only print odd pages?  No other reasons other than wrong settings which should give an alert rather than just spurt out the paper.  Let me know how thou get on  A
Peter H Posted March 4, 2013 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 4, 2013 Thanks for responding Andy. Â No, no cover page, single prints only etc.., no changes from my usual practise. Â I've tried the printer with another computer with the same result: it will print everything except for Photoshop files. They are both Macs, but though one is Mountain Lion, which could be a cause of difficulties, the other isn't, and has always worked fine. I think there's something wrong in the "brain" of the printer. Â I wonder whether Mountain Lion could have corrupted it, so that it now can't read PS from any source. Peter H Posted March 5, 2013 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 5, 2013 Ah well, it seems it was simply a matter of updating the printer driver and re-setting all PS Preferences as a result of a delayed reaction to the upgrade to Mountain Lion. Â A painful day's work to discover such a simple solution to such an arcane problem, but a huge relief not to have to buy a new printer! Â :)
Bill Allsopp Posted March 5, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted March 5, 2013 I had a similar problem a while back which was traced to a corrupted driver for my 3880. Downloading a fresh driver from the Epson website fixed it.
AndyMc Posted March 5, 2013 Share #6  Posted March 5, 2013 Cool, I'm debating swapping out my 2400, I'm a little frustrated at the new driver interface... It's a little less flexible from the test runs I've done...  Can't seem to find advanced black and white settings anymore.. Think it's an osx issue.  Pleased you got it sorted, printing problems are super frustrating  A
